Earlier this year (back in Fall), Kindergartners made Fall Trees.
MATERIALS:
9x11 White Drawing Paper
Crayons
Red, Orange, Yellow Paint
Tree Visuals
MOTIVATION/DISCUSSION:
With the students I talked about various trees: palm trees, evergreen trees, birch trees, apple trees, etc. We then discussed the parts of a tree (branches, trunk, etc.) and observed what the leaves were doing outside.
STEPS:
I completed a step by step guided drawing with the students on how to draw a tree.
1. Draw Trunk
2. Add Large Branches
3. Add Small Branches
4. Draw Ground Line
5. Color Grass and Sky (completely)
6. Using only their pointer finger, students added leaves to their tree using Fall Colors.
